James Teej - Fundamental EP (Remixes)Written by Youri Jozee Tech House - Up first are the Burnt Island Casuals boys (aka Grame Clark and Harri), who turn the Three Light Years track into a fierce and punchy tech-house groove riddles with a variety of soaring bass and funky percussion, creating a rhythmic rework. Next up is James Teej who drops his redux of Don't Appear, a stripped-down but solid house stomper with warm synth stabs and some very nice melodic bass in the middle part. A very atmospheric, catchy and emotive tune this one. Phonogenic does what he does best by dropping a deep and hypnotic rework of Anything Right. The vocal work on this one takes the prize as it's beautifully layered on top of the dark instrumentals. Closing the EP is the Michael J Collins mix of Don't Appear, which is the most electro of them all. Its cold electro synths and hollow vibe create a very static but very compelling take on the original. This EP full of remixes is the icing on the cake. The original EP was ace, but these remixes are definitely worth company. Our pick? probably the Phonogenic remix, but the other three should definitely be heard too if you're looking for some kick-ass electronics.
