Hernan Cattaneo & Soundexile - Cripsis

imageEP Review -

Hernan Cattaneo, one of the leading lights in todays progressive house movement, returns with a brand new EP w/ Soundexile on his own Sudbeat label. Mixing things up here is Quivver.

This bundle means business: The EP features five tracks of which three are remixes by Quivver. First up is the Night remix of Cripsis, a good old fashioned progressive slammer with dark beats, soaring synth waves and seriously sweeping pads and melodies that slowly build to a massive climax. A mean rocker for those nocturnal peak time moments. The Day remix steps back in terms of tempo, revealing a 'light' version of the tune filled with several layers of playful melodies.

Quivver's No Vocal Mix borders on the lines between trance and progressive, retaining the punch from the Night mix yet adding a plethora of staccato synths to the overall. Well played. His regular Remix packs an even bigger punch, while his Dub focuses solely on the rhythm, by which the track's techy elements are effectively spotlighted.

Our verdict: a stunning release that will rock floors the world over. Five absolute bombs.
