Gerd - For 12 Minutes I Danced With An Alien

imageEP Review
Gerd's 'For 12 Minutes She Danced With An Alien' originally saw a release as a b-side back in 1995 on Speedy J's Beam Me Up! label. Having recently made his own edit of the track, Joris Voorn secured permission to sign it for Rejected with Gerd agreeing to produce a fresh new version.

The result is a stunning 2-track package that opens with Gerd's 2010 Re-Mix.Gerd turns his own creation into a typically Gerd-ish house/techno creation full of warm strings and synths and funky uptempo beats. Think Funk D'Void, Jimpster, and you get a pretty good idea of its vibe.

Joris Voorn's Ruff remix breaks it down with a more tech-house flavoured rhythm with fierce claps and loads of short, effective breakdowns. A bit less dynamic, more straight-on cut but at least as powerful as Gerd's remix.

Final verdict: A festival shaking package with a warm and funky vibe. What more could you possibly wish for this time of the year?
