El Prevost - Money Honey (Third Ear)

imageHouse/Techno -
Straight out of South London, El Prevost comes correct with the ‘Money Honey EP’, as Third Ear present more of the house sound of London.

The four tracks on this EP all reflect a moody, somewhat desolat sound yet are tailored for the dancefloor. Opening track Money Honey is a tune that reminisces of Speedy J's endless techno loops, only more minimal and less heavy. The raw hi-hatting in the track's sequence's awesome, and the vocal snippets also do the business. Real good stuff. Youngblood is a typical minimal groover including a plethora of modulated sound effects and a well placed breakdown, while the warm yet rocking That House Shit switches to a more tech-house meets Detroit kinda flavour. The EP closes in the form of My Soul Responding, a track that relates to its predecessor in terms of sound, and is definitely at least as enjoyable.

El Prevost delivers a solid EP with four deep grooving house and techno bangers. Our pick would be the title track, but we must admit the others are very charming too...
