El Prevost - Money Honey (Third Ear)Written by Youri Jozee House/Techno - The four tracks on this EP all reflect a moody, somewhat desolat sound yet are tailored for the dancefloor. Opening track Money Honey is a tune that reminisces of Speedy J's endless techno loops, only more minimal and less heavy. The raw hi-hatting in the track's sequence's awesome, and the vocal snippets also do the business. Real good stuff. Youngblood is a typical minimal groover including a plethora of modulated sound effects and a well placed breakdown, while the warm yet rocking That House Shit switches to a more tech-house meets Detroit kinda flavour. The EP closes in the form of My Soul Responding, a track that relates to its predecessor in terms of sound, and is definitely at least as enjoyable. El Prevost delivers a solid EP with four deep grooving house and techno bangers. Our pick would be the title track, but we must admit the others are very charming too... Rating: 7.0/10 Label: Third Ear Release date: November 29th, 2010 Tracklist A1. Money Honey A2. Youngblood B1. That House Shit B2. My Soul Responding (featuring D.Ham)
