Dorothy's Ghost - Never Said GoodbyeWritten by Youri Jozee EP Review - The original version of Never Said Goodbye is a downtempo affair with a jazzy vibe, although it is supported by dreamy electropop rhythms and soaring synths. What's most remarkabale about this tune are Dorothy's Ghost archetypical jazzy vocals that seem to mix perfectly well with the stripped-down instrumentals, resulting in a laidback groove with an ever present tension. On the flipside it's Lee Waxman packing a fat disco punch fueled by violins and wah-wah guitars. Proof of the fact that Dorothy's vox are unisex is given by the fact that her laidback voice forms an exciting combo together with the chilled-down discofunk vibe in this remix. Poolside groove, yes, and utterly catchy. Final verdict: Two outstanding, soulful and very diverse tunes that together form a well balanced EP on a label worth watching. Full support. Rating: 8/10 Label: Electric Sheep Release date: September 2010 Tracklist: 1. Never Said Goodbye 2. Never Said Goodbye (Lee Waxman’s Long Hot Disco Mix)
