Daco - Drip Dry (+ Yam Who? Remix)

imageDisco -

Paper Recordings turns to the sensual side of disco once again with this release by Daco and an additional remix by Yam Who?

Let me first start by saying that if this EP doesn’t make you happy, I don’t know what will. Is it the glowing synth work in both tracks? The playful beats? The super catchy vocal mumbling? It’s probably a combination of all of the above, but God knows it’s good. The original mix is a sparkling, extremely laidback disco groove that has ‘thank God it’s Friday’ all over it. The warm keys and vivid 70s elements make it a perfect poolside tune, but I’m pretty positive it will find its way into the bedroom too. Ooh-wee.

As if that isn’t already enough enjoyment, Yam Who? drops a fine, fine club remix in which the ‘po-pow-po-pow’ vox are put over a chunky disco house beat laden with bass and uplifting keys. It’s different, but god damn it it’s solid.

Our verdict:
An extremely effective energy refill disguised as an EP, that’s what this gem is. You can’t afford to skip this one if you’re a disco freak.
