Cyan341 - Disconnected

Dub/Techno - Cyan341 is East London producer Mark Streatfield, who has previously released tracks on Uncharted Audio, Smallfish, Kreislauf and his own Rednetic imprint. Completing his new EP are remixes from See The Road, Abstract Source and Area.
First up is the original mix of Disconnected, a heavy mid-tempo dub techno track with basic, early house bass, classic 80s synth fx and a great afterhours-vibe. The See The Road mix is a bit techier, wtih offbeat kicks and wobbly prog bass delivering a very decent dub techno groove. Abstract Source's is a straight up tech house cut fueled by loads of shakers, warm melodies and a disco-y touch near the middle. Closing the track is Area's bumpy, Detroit-style rework in which the warm vibe from the original is especially well preserved.
Our verdict:
A great dub techno EP to get familiar with the genre. The original is pretty good, but the remixes are better.
