Andomat 3000 - Hit-Ze

imageEP Review -

New stuff on the Four:Twenty label is always something to look out for. The newest cut on the imprint comes from the ever reliable Andomat 3000 and is backed-up by remixes from Solomun, Seulo, and Ruthit. That's a whole bunch of fatness squeezed on to one disc, we hear you think.

The original mix of Hit-Ze is a pumping tribal tech-house affair with extremely catchy drum patterns supported by a nasty wobbly bassline. The vocals in the break build up to a climax in which Andomat gets a bit more techy. A rock-solid club killer. Solomun's remix is more housier and four-to-the-floor. Its playful bassline is the track's main attraction, which also makes it both usable as a DJ-tool and as a stand-alone energy refill for the floors.

Seulo (aka Jim Rivers, known for his prog stuff on Bedrock), delivers a mix that tends to get a bit psychedelic at some points, yet retains a powerful combination of progressive synths and minimal techno grooves. Last one in the batch of remixes is Ruthit's, and it's definitely the stand-out tune on this release. His rework is filled with well placed percussion while staccato bass and synths form a vibe of Slam-style proportions. Great stuff, check it out as soon as you can.

Closing the EP is Sigrun, a super heavy, almost industrial sounding house groove with techno synth soars and distorted waves that gets even nastier towards the end (that break near the end will blow you away, hands down). A great addition to an already awesome EP.

Andomat and his mates drop a funky collection of tech-house grooves with proggy and techy vibes, which makes it a bit allrounder yet by no means cheesy EP. Well worth your credits.
