Alixander III - Schlamm EP

Founding father of Azari & III turns to Get The Curse for a very exciting solo EP...

Azari & III are among the hottest house acts out there these days. Why? Because they manage to take the classic Chicago house sound and turn it into something fresh while staying true to its signature vibe. Founding member Alixander Lanza III now presents a solo EP, the massive Schlamm EP. Now don't you think these Azari boys are new to the game. Alixander has been dropping tunage from the early nineties, which explains the incredible quality of his Azari & III stuff to date. On this EP, Alix presents his 'darker and edgier' side in the form of five tracks (including two remixes).

Opening track Dichtschlamm is a deep and heavy sub-bass dub house track in which Azari's 808 sounds are emrged to nasty electro bass and a fat basement vibe designed to rock peak time clubbing moments. Belebtschlamm gets even heavier with an ever dubbier groove full of bass bloops, jacking drums and mental electro bits, while the minimally structured and slightly distorted Schlick serves as a great DJ tool. Hold Youth (Seuil) and Le Loup turn Dichtschlamm into a midtempo and very deep trip-track after which Sishi Rosch transforms Belebtschlamm into a very hot 21st century house shuffler that includes a melody that will nestle in your brain for days to come.

Our verdict:
Alixander's solo EP is just as qualitative as the stuff he releases as Azari & III. An effective weapon of choice in the hands of DJs with a great sense of what works the floor.
