Aline Raphael - Paradis Artificiel

imageEP Review -

French born and berlins based producer and DJ Aline Raphael suddenly popped upon our radar with a debut EP on Catenaccio records. During a first quick listen the depth and darkness of the tracks immediatly struck us. To good to ignore, check out our review!

The EP consists out of two original tracks and two more remixes by The Result aka Benjamin Fehr, labelboss of Catenaccio & Falko Brocksieper and a remix by S-max which you may know as the co-owner of Boogizm remix.
The first track Lilomon is a deep and dark affair. A truly sophisticated track made with an eye for sound scapes and atmosphere. Driven by a steady bass and beat but with an melodious synth line effortlessly interweaved. It really drags you in to its mysterious atmosphere. The remix by S-Max offers a more punchy bass and leans a bit more towards the housy side of things, perfect afterhours material.

Paradis Artificiel has the same depth as Lilomon. The steady bass line is interrupted by a mish mash of sounds which are carefully put together. Once the bass comes back in the track continues onward in to the night. The used sounds once again create a mysterious atmosphere that keeps you interested from start to finish. The remix by The Result offers more punchy acid like synth stabs. The bass is a bit less emphasized while the deepest parts of the original are left intact. A cool more techy effort but it does'nt come close to the original.

Overall the debut of Aline Raphael is one with style. She displays her view on sounds and delivers a quality release with this one!
