Alexander Robotnick - JB Is Dead (Hot Elephant Music)

imageDisco/Electro -

Italo disco legend turned electro-disco producer Alexander Robotnick returns with the JB Is Dead EP, a package busting  high-quality cosmic grooves.

Fear not: JB Is Dead has nothing to do with that infamous tune from the early nineties. Instead, the EP is Alexander Robotnick’s next take on cosmic nu-disco with electro elements which we’ve come to love from the man. The Club Mix is a fierce nu-disco tune with a static Italo-esque bassline and cosmic keys, topped off with some very nice space-synths in the back. A very cool combination of various sorts of disco with an edgy robotic vibe. The Krypta Version of the tune is a more stripped-down and dubbier rework and will cater to the more house-minded among us, but it does miss that ‘rich’ vibe from the original. Closing the EP is the Electro Version and is definitely the hardest hitting tune of them all. The tune revolves around the Italo bassline from the original, a thumping house groove and ice cold synth work around the middle part. One for the darkest of clubs.

JB Is Dead is another one of those Robotnick synth-stacked disco slabs, which translates as ‘hot’.
