Agoria - Heart Beating (Remixes)

imageHouse -
Agoria's Impermanence album highligh t Heart Beating gets the remix treatment from four skilled artists.

Up first is the original mix of Heart Beating, an intense semi-pop track fueled by singer Kid A's Bjork-like vocals, great drums and melodramatic strings in the background. Sylvain Chauveau, a producer with a classical background, turns the track into a very melancholic, beat-less soundtrack-ish affair, after which Argy steps up to deliver one of his chunky house remixes we've come to know him for. The John Roberts remix is a bit of an indie oddity, a slow-moving piece of electronica with a very obscure vibe. Closing the EP is the excellent Fraction remix, a roaring, uptempo piece of electro/techno with a very nasty bassline as its main attraction. Ace.

Our verdict:
This first batch of remixes is something really special. Agoria's preference for the obscure finds its way into these remixes, which are all worth checking out. If we really had to choose we'd say that Sylvain's Chauveau's remix takes the grand prize, although Fraction is a close follower. Great EP.
