Adam Beyer & Alexi Delano - Turn Loose

imageEP Review -

Adam Beyer’s occasional outings on his Mad Eye imprint are always worth a look as this Turn Loose 12” with long term friend, colleague and countryman Alexi Delano proves. Yup, that's the second EP of these guys in just one month...

Set up as an alternative outlet for the Swedish techno giants material, Mad Eye has no strict music policy, release schedule or roster by which every release can be called very special and pretty much always worth your cash. This two-tracker opens with Loose Turn, a heavy kick-driven piece of techno supported by staccato percussion and almost industrial-like bass. The intro manaes to build up the tension quite well, after which a massive breakdown turns the tune into a dynamic piece of rock hard club material. Turn loose on the B-side is a slightly dubbier and more minimal-inspired techno cut which has this funky organic rhythm as its main attraction. The many slightly psychedelic vocals and echoing snippets make this one a very mysterious piece of under-the-skin floorfiller action that will also appeal to deep house fanatics.

With EPs like this, we can only hope that Adam and Alexi have dug up more like this during their collab sessions. Highly recommended.
