BnB vs Earthbookings Podcast | Prunk

imagePodcast -
We’re happy to announce a new series of podcasts on BnB in kind cooperation with Dutch artist agency Earthbookings. And what better way to start than with a high quality kick-off?

Earthbookings represents some of the nation’s finest house and techno artists such as Juan Sanchez, Makcim, Per, and this weeks podcaster Prunk.

Prunk, or Nilz Pronk to his friends and family, is rapidly making waves as one of the next-gen artists in the field of no-nonsense house music. He has played alongside renowned artists such as Sharam Jey, Felix Da Housecat, Dennis Ferrer, and Junior Jack at venues including The Sand, The Matrixx, Air and Bloomingdale. Raised to the beats of Ian Pooley, DJ Sneak, Todd Terry, Dennis Ferrer and likeminded acts, Prunk definitely knows his classics. He has been strongly influenced by US deep house and has added a bit of Dutch funk, blurring the borders between contemporary house and classic grooves.

Hi Prunk, how are you? Could you tell us a bit about the vibe of this podcast?
Hey! I’m Nilz Pronk aka Prunk, resident at Amsterdam club AIR and DJ on the roster of Earthbookings. I’ve been addicted to deep house since I was 11, and for the last 5 years I have been playing in a lot of clubs and on a few festivals too. I’m 22 now and my DJ career is going well and my productions are being picked up too. I’ve recently released tracks on Soulman Music and there are a few more scheduled for release later this year.

In my podcast I’ve tried to showcase my sound, which I would describe as being influenced by Chicago House. I’ve decided to do so because my own tracks are very much inspired by the Chicago sound.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?
I used to listen to Ian Pooley, Sneak and Joey Youngman a lot, all of which play the music I like most: funky with a groove. It’s very soulful and I really like the way they combine it with deeper vibes.

What kind of stuff are you listening to at the moment?
At the moment I really like the tracks that come out on Dark Energy, Freerange, Off Recordings and other deep house imprints. When I’m done with house music for the day I switch to Jazz and Hip-hop.

What projects do you have coming up?
Apart from Prunk I’m also performing as Orbit System, which is my progressive house alias. I released a track on Manual Music last January and my other tune Timemachine was even charted #2 by Nick Warren on RA. I’m currently producing a lot under Prunk and I really want to start releasing some more stuff in a month or two.

Do you have any other news to share?

Recently I started an artist page on Facebook, on which I will publish a monthly top 10 and share a lot of new mixes. Furthermore it’s the ultimate spot to stay up to date with my new releases and DJ gigs. And don’t forget, whenever you are in Amsterdam, stop by at club AIR. It really is the new hot spot of Amsterdam!
