This week marks the 5^th episode in our BnB Presents We Are E podcast series. After earlier sets by Arjuna Schiks, Johanna Mercker, Gideon & Mulder and Loops this week sees Joey Daniel on duty!

Joey Daniel started listening and making music at a young age. His passion for music began with drums, but growing older his interest shifted to electronic music. When he was fifteen he heard the track Future by Michel De Hey and he was hooked instantly. His new goal in life was to make people dance, a thing he has been doing for a few years now with his fresh mix of house, minimal and techno.

Joey’s career started in Club Off Corso, Rotterdam. He became a resident of the Electro Rockers night and later became the a resident of Electronation ‘GlamTech” nights, also in Off Corso. After proving his abilities at this Rotterdam club, he was asked to become one of the residents and programmers at that other big Rotterdam club: Now & Wow, this marked his rise to the Dutch major league. Nowadays he is resident of the international night Electric Deluxe Presents hosted by Speedy J. Besides DJ-ing Joey has picked up on producing as well and released his first track on Unlock Recordings.

Besides DJ-ing and producing, Joey is also organizing his own events. He started back in 2008 with his own Selektor nights in Off Corso, inviting artists like Gregor Tresher, Paco Osuna, Paul Kalkbrenner amongst many other. These days Joey is organizing 300MPH events at clubs like Catwalk and Factory10 both located in Rotterdam. Names on the roster include Loco Dice, Raresh, James Holden and Extrawelt.

Hey Joey, how are you? Anything you would like to say about this podcast?
Well I tried to find a good combination for the set between tracks that I like to play on a dance floor but which are also nice to listen to when you’re at home, it’s the intention to get you in the mood for a crazy night out ;-)

When and how did you became part of the We Are E family?
That’s about 2 years ago, when I got in touch with Pete it really worked out between us from the first second I met him. Now 2 years later I can proudly say I’m happy to be a member of the team and that things really working out well for me.

In two weeks you’ll be performing at Time Warp NL, looking forward to that? What are you expecting of that night?
Yess I’m really looking forward to that! Last year I also played at Time Warp where I was meant to do the closing set from 6 till 8, but around 10 am. in the morning I was still playing and the room was totally packed. This year I got a prime time spot from 1 till 3 so I’m really excited! On top of that I also play at the official after and on friday at We Are E’s Time Warp pre-party at Studio80 together with Unders. So bring it on can’t wait J

Do you prepare in any special way for such an event?
Yess for this one for sure, not only musically but also physically, it will be 3 crazy long days with lots of music to play J

Any cool news or sneak previews we have not covered yet?
Well lots of cool things are coming up, but can’t tell much about that yet ;-) One cool thing is that I host the upstairs room at Voltt 26^th of December. Very excited about that! For the rest looking forward to next year’s 300MPH, lots of cool artists are already booked!
