US born DJ/Producer Martínek is a unique name in the thriving New York City club scene. Appearing in venues big, small, mainstream, and uncanny - he's becoming well known for his explosive sets featuring a mix of live productions and driving deep techno.
His current successes include international support from artists on labels such as Desolat and Cocoon for his original productions, an upcoming EP on Germany's Circle Music, and a residency at the Listen party at the Don Hill's Club in Manhattan.
His own label/artist collective versa, which he co-founded in July 2010, brings in talent from across the globe and hosts memorable parties highlighting some of the pioneers of Electronic Dance Music today. While Producing and DJ'ing are at the top of his list, establishing versa as an outlet to New York's other talented producers and DJ's is of equal importance to him: "My goal is to elevate versa to become a launch-pad for artists, and not through any conventional means like selling tracks on Beatport. With the amount of music you can get for free today, your productions are your calling card - so more important than trying to monetize off of them, to me, is to get them to stand out. I've always been focused on quality over quantity - and that thinking caries through in every aspect of our label; our parties, our artists, our PR methods etc... - we want them all to stand out so people can identify with us."
