The
Movement Torino Music Festival is -how surprisingly- held in Turin, Italy and serves as the European counterpart of the Detroit festival. Now, sound wise we notice a lot of similarities too. Both Movement events feature the cream in Detroit-ish music, with techno, deep house and minimal being the key elements in its musical programming.
Now this Movement Torino Music Festival CD-package here is really something special. Value for money? You got it: Includes in the bundle are two unmixed (so DJ-friendly) CDs, and a third multimedia track with even more tracks plus a whopping two-and-a-half hour mix by I-Robots. God damn it, that's a lot of of house and techno for you to chew on eh? The actual names on the tracklists made us even more happier, as we're getting to hear (full-length!) tuneage from Dennis
Ferrer, Beat Pharmacy, Luciano, Alton Miller, Plastikman, Model 500 and many others. As we're dealing with two unmixed CDs here, we're not going to get in detail on every track, but take it from us that they capture that ol' Detroit vibe very, very well.
On disc three we find the I-Robots Movement Mix Session, which is a very crisp & clear sounding mix with a full throttle vibe all the way through. Great extra.
This package provides a fantastic overview of the music that make the Movement festivals the mecca to any house & techno afficionado. Stuffed with tunes and a great mix as a closure, this 3-disc bundle definitely is a recommendation if you're into the soulful side of techno. Rating: 8.0/10
