Little Helpers Mixed Volume One: ButaneWritten by Youri Jozee Tech-House - On this first edition in the new Little Helpers Mixed series, Butane breaks down 43 tracks from the label’s catalog and re-assembled them into a trippy minimal techno flow… Butane - Little Helpers Edits 01 - EDIT 1 by butaneToday’s technology enables DJs to craft mixes that stretch beyond the conventional idea of a compilation. Compilations on which tracks are simply lined up are getting scarce, while track stripping and sampling is rapidly becoming the new way to go for artists. The first edition in the Little Helpers Mixed series is a perfect example of this ethos. Head honcho of the Little Helpers label Butane has taken 43 tracks from the label’s discography, stripped them, and used each separate part to create a rolling minimal tech-house mix. Sprinkled across this mix are bits and pieces from tracks by Tim Xavier, Dirty Culture, Mark Henning, Someone else and Butane himself amongst many others, all of which add their magic in what is a highly swinging affair. After a bit of a dark and deep opener in which five tracks collide into a sinister tech-house track, the mix continues with a set of very rhythmic and quite minimal hybrids. Bass stabs, tone pulses and numerous other effects are subtly woven into the flow, with the result being a flow that would definitely do the damage during peak time moments in underground basements. Moments worth mentioning are the four –track blast that is track 6, the devastating tech-house beats on 8, and the bodyrocking track 11. Our verdict: Tracklisting: 1
