Junior Sanchez definitely knows what it takes to make a club bounce. Having collaborated with the likes of Madonna, Katy Perry, The Bravery and loads-a-more, Sanchez walks the fines lines between electro, pop, house and basically anything else he feels does the trick in blowing the roof of a club. Yes, that did sound cheesy to us too when we first read it, but we couldn’t be further from the truth. Proof of that is this blazing compilation on Nervous, on which Sanchez drops a serious dose of block rocking beats that perfectly reflect today’s hugely popular electrohouse sound.
Don’t expect things to get complicated, arty farty or whatever: Seize The Fewcha is an unpretentious mash of contemporary house tunes riddled with electro bits, all mixed in such a way that a continuous flow of energy pumps out of your speakers. Opening track BRRRAT!, by Armand van Helden & Steve Aoki, sets the tone for 75 minutes of sheer madness, with tunes such as Cajmere’s Percolater (Junior Sanchez Nite Version), Butch’ No Worries and the massive We Luv The Nite feat Brad Walsh by Sanchez himself adding pure bliss to the mix as a whole. Now we’re not too big a fan of those funfair electro sirens we hear so much in tunes these days and luckily, these are kept to a minimum. What you do get are some of the best tunes the electro house genre has to offer, and whereas we started to lose our faith in the genre, Sanchez shows that he knows his way around the quality side of it by dropping the one bomb after another. Right, we take it you get the idea by now.
Our verdict: HUUUUGE! Junior Sanchez Seize The Fewcha is the one compilation to fetch if you’re looking for some seriously evil bomb tracks squeezed in an incredibly tight mix. After tons of mindless electro house releases and mixes, Sanchez saves the day with this massive compilation that serves perfectly well as a warm up on your way to the club as in the club itself. Great mixing, great selection of records, downright fucking awesome. Stand-out tracks: Armand Van Helden & Steve Aoki – BRRRAT!, Bad Boy Bill – Got That Feeling (Junior Sanchez Niteversion), Junior Sanchez – We Luv The Nite feat Brad Walsh. Weak moments: Hardly any.
