Hibernate - Toronto The Creepy

imageProgressive House -

Canadian prog producer Hibernate (Joey Borg) recently released his new album Toronto The Creepy on System Recordings. Here's what we think.

"What I do is essentially pop rock type melodies over electronic dance music orientated beats...sweet breaks or flowing housey rhythms," says Joey."Also, recently I've been listening to a lot of the 80s British groups, such as The Cure, The Smiths and Echo and the Bunnymen - even some Duran Duran. I think it’s starting to show in my tunes, which is a good thing in my opinion". Truth be told, his tunes do carry a massive commercial appeal that's along the likes of likeminded artists such as Kaskade, Deadmau5 and Chicane. Toronto The Creepy has become a well structured collection of warm, clubby progressive house marked by soaring synthesizers, a variety of deeper layers in each track and a chilled overall vibe. Without using too many surprising elements or twists, Hibernate manages to churn out tunes that are very easy on the ears and will therefore appeal to a mass worldwide audience. After all, it doesn't always have to be insanely complex, does it?

Our verdict:

The new Hibernate album has become on that will most definitely find its way to the commercial charts and floors. There's a lot to enjoy on this album, that clearly has been produced by an experienced artist.
