Cream Ibiza 2010 - Mixed By Eddie HalliwellWritten by Erik Buis Album Review - Just like in Eddie's livesets, almost half of the tracks on this two-disc compilation have undergone the Eddie Halliwell Edit treatment, turning this release into something more than just your ordinary delivery of mixed tunes. The first disc starts of kinda dreamy in the form of Deadmau5's Strobe, after which massive dance floor bombs kick in from the likes of by Burns, Mark Knight, Moguai, Afrojack and many others. The ED-ITs of some of the tracks provide the mix with extra colour and a very playful vibe in which you get the impression that you are actually listening to a live performance by mr. Halliwell. And that's a plus, considering the dozens of Ibiza comps out there at the moment. Afrojack's Pacha On Acid, -ED-ITed by Eddie- provides a mellow breakdown somewhere halfway in the mix as this track is a step back from the peak time mayhem we have thus far encountered. After this one it's full throttle again with summerish house and electro house tunes. One of the highlights for me is from the hands of Cirez D... his Glow got the Eddie makeover and is an absolute bomb. The first five tunes on disc 2 have all been reworked by Eddie. The second tune; Cuernos Cubanos from Spektr & Matt Cooper is an absolute slammer and a definite peak time/hands up in the air/we are killing it in here-bomb. The techy atmosphere and high speed percussion immediately propels the mix forward. Overall speaking the second disc is a bit more tech and progressively orientated with more thunderous tracks by Umek, Skytech, and Sander Van Doorn a.o.. Absolute highlight is the no longer new but still mind blowing Dustin Zahn' Stranger in the Len Faki podium remix. Massive... To conclude I'd say that Eddie mixed and compiled and outstanding Ibiza compilation. If you are looking for a CD to summarize your summer on the Island, look no further. This is definitely the best one and offers you all the cool sounds coming from the main dance floors of the idyllic island.
