BnB Review: Various - EPM 10

imageHouse/Techno -

EPM celebrate 10 years by launching their own label with a compilation featuring 10 exclusive and previously unreleased tracks from the realms of 80s Italo disco, nu-school house and Detroit-flavored techno...

EPM is a recognized name in the field of house, techno, italo and electro with a vintage twist, with activities ranging from DJ bookings to PR and artist management. This label kick-off compilation perfectly captures the ethos and spirit of what EPM is all about, with (Italo-)disco heads lined up alongside techno innovators and up and coming names in the experimental and electro genre on a total of 10 separate tracks. Oldschool elements (the piano house that is Marius - Jet Set) and contemporary sounds (the epic Sandwell District - Live In Berlin) walk hand in hand on this CD, making it a very consistent affair despite the wide range of genres. Don't expect any half-assed compositions or anything. The biggest strength of this release is the high quality of the tracks included, making it only only a very interesting listening experience, but also a convincing showcase of EPM's musical canvas.

Our verdict:
EPM 10 rocks from beginning till end, with 10 top notch tracks demonstrating what EPM is all about. A recommended release for fans of both vintage cuts as au courant electronics.

Stand our tracks: Detroit Grand Pubahs - Civil War 2013, Floorplan - Move It, Sandwell District - Live In Berlin, Orlando Voorn - Wiggle
Weak moment: Nope.
