Soul Clap are about to release their debut compilation on Jonny White’s No.19 Music label. Fasten your seatbelts for a wild ride through emotive deep house, throbbing minimal, super funky disco jams and mysterious electronica textures…

The critically acclaimed Soul Clap outfit from Boston have established themselves as tastemakers in the mutated house appreciating community, but things get extra freaky on this second edition in the Social Experimetn series. Drawing from a wide variety of genres, Soul Clap guides us through no less than 24 tracks varying from deep house to wah wah nu-disco, soulful tech jams and experimental bits of electronica.

And there’s plenty of mint tracks to choose from: Gadi Mizrahi delivers the first outstanding track in the mix with the dub-druggy Hurt Me, Soho 808’s Just To See is a bass-laden monster of a house groover, while the utterly beautiful Parallel Lines by Night Plane adds a subtle Nicolaas Jaar-ish vibe to the mix. Other gems come in the form of the chunky Living The Life by Art Department & Seth Troxler (a golden combination given their recent output), Deniz Kurtel’s oldschool-ish The L Word and the dubstep grooves of Art Department & Soul Clap’s Glen & Boo. All in all, a swirling mash of genre-crossing cuts that's hotter than a hundred bouncing boobies on a hot summer day. Excuse our French.

Our verdict:
We’d sign up for a social experiment like this anytime. Soul Clap’s debut compilation has become one boiling blend of electronics. The best thing about it is the way Soul Clap plats around with a variety of genres and come out clean in the end. The mixing’s great, the timing close to perfect, and the choice of records is superb. Yes sir, this compilation is huge and you’d be a fool to close your eyes on this one.
