The Swiss outfit have a penchant for adding freestyle elements to their funky eclectic house stuff, and their new longplayer is no different. The Knights sure know how to put a smile on the faces of even the most stubborn ravers with their fun-flavored cuts that mix electro, house, funk, electro, latin… well pretty much anything else they feel would fit in. Cheesy, you say? Nay! It’s quality as far as the eye can see on Say What?!, but then again, quality has become the middle name of this outfit over the past years. The album opens strong with the laidback Old Fashioned and swing-funk on Say What (feat. 'sexy’ vocals by Ogris Debris), and continues with highly enjoyable tunes that vary from very mellow to floorfilling heavy hitters. Cut To The Top (feat. Reverend Beat Man) could have been a cut from Nôze, Stomper is a huuuge club rocker while tunes such as Cherry Pie and the stunning All Night (feat. Ghostape) deliver some welcome chill out moments.
Our verdict: Say What?! is (another) fresh take on the house spectrum by two of the bravest Knights out there. The boys clearly had fun in the studio, and we more than enjoyed listening to it. If you’re looking for a dynamic and very diverse trip through the most expressive side of house, then this is your cup of tea.
